cont 2: Prints?

bringonthecarnage said: I’d buy them…not postcard…like A3/2…Or A1 depending quality of photo…

I’ve never actually printed any of my stuff bigger than 15x10 inches, but seeing as its a 15mp DSLR I’m pretty sure it can be done and the image quality won’t suffer for it. It would be a question of finding a reputable place to make them that doesn’t charge and arm and a leg to make it happen, ya know? What images were you considering and whats the sort of ballpark price you’d be looking at? I mean, its gonna be more than the generic ones in the likes of HMV cost…

Well, I’ve photographed them 3 times so I’m sure there’s something to suit!

stewieeatworld answered: put it this way, if i walked into hmv and seen the poster of ryan key in the scotland top, i’d have bought it without thinking! :)

haha, really? I hated all my YC photos :/ as I said above, I’d have to find a good poster printing place as well as somewhere that doesn’t charge an absolute fortune for it. We’d have to figure out a price as well.

Prints?

So in addition to planning some new competitions to win a couple of free prints I’m thinking about opening up an online bigcartel store to raise some funds for a few little photography supplies I’m hopping to acquire.

I guess I need to ask:

  • Is there insterest for this? Buying prints of live photos of some of your favourite bands?
  • What sort of sizes are people interested in? I can print anything from postcard sized up to..well fairly giant, but is there a general preference?
  • Shipping worldwide? Is a blanket fee fairer than more for further away?
  • Dollars or Pounds?

John O’Callaghan of The Maine. March 2011

Fairly pleased with how these came out. Possibly not as good as last Octobers (I’m a sucker for complementary coloured lighting) but I’ll take what I can get. More soon! x
